Emily has over 30 years of experience building strategic communications programs, capabilities, and teams across industries, including financial services, industrial manufacturing, technology, cybersecurity, higher education, and the nonprofit sector. Throughout her career, Emily has worked with senior business and functional leaders, serving as a trusted advisor on organizational and crisis communications.
In 2020, Emily founded Brodeur Communications LLC, a strategic communications consultancy that partners with organizations to deliver executive, employee, crisis, and transformational change communications, along with channel management strategies and thought leadership content.
Prior to launching her own firm, Emily spent 18 years at JPMorganChase as a Managing Director and senior communications officer. There, she led internal and employee communications for the firm’s investment and retail banks, as well as for key corporate functions, including finance, regulatory affairs, operations, technology, cybersecurity, and real estate. Emily also played a communication leadership role during significant events, such as the Y2K issue, the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the global credit and U.S. mortgage crises, financial regulatory reform, and three of the bank’s mergers.
Earlier in her career, Emily held leadership roles as National Director of Communications at the YWCA of the USA and Director of Communications and Community Outreach at Pace University in New York.
A lifelong learner, Emily has a Master of Public Administration in Nonprofit Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Literature and Communications from Pace University. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Investigations of Financial Crimes at the University of New Haven and is certified as a cryptocurrency investigator by the Blockchain Intelligence Group.
Emily has two daughters and is the proud parent of a child with special needs. She actively volunteers for organizations that support individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities.
